Somebody saw Watchmen too many times...

We have had these in NYC since the 80's

And in Chicago since the 90's.

You know what Nate, I think that this could happen. It will have weird mundane qualities to it that will make it so unlike the comic books, but I think it could happen.

When you think about it in comicbooks heroes are pretty mundane. They're a part of everyday life. People are excited when superman is around but they don't freak out, they just except this alien that flies around and saves people. LOL.

No too long ago someone was having some fun with the idea of the plausibility of hero groups like The Avengers. They generally function like the post office. Private organization with government backing. How would people respond to this? The new origins do make this more plausible.

It sounds like the D&D set is getting bored. In most places, it is illegal to wear a mask in Public, and handcuffing somebody would constitute false arrest, since you can press charges as a citizen, but can't hold somebody prisoner.

It also reminds me of some kid posting on Craigslist, looking for a camera man to follow him as he fights crime.

Lol according to the first article, "It is legal in Ohio and Kentucky to make a citizens arrest, however, the arrester does face possible civil litigation if the person arrested turns out to be innocent."

So he can use handcuffs, which the article said is legal, along with with pepper spray and tazers. How funny would it be if this kid actually took down a criminal?
