Hey all I'm a long time lurker and can't tell you how much I've learned on these boards. I've been shooting weddings since last year using a Panny DVC-Pro and I'm finally moving into my first 24p wedding on June 19th. I dropped a few samples of older work (pre 24p) on my site for you all to check out.
I know people who won't go 24p because of slow-mo issues, but you can get by as long as you know what can be slowed down. During my testing stages I noticed that locked down shots are almost acceptable at 58% (Vegas) and I've also had luck with a few tracking shots too! Basically my advice is for anyone wanting to shoot 24p weddings is to go for it, but be sure to shoot enough footage. Slow down want you want and preview it. If it doesn't sit well then come up with something creative. That's what makes us good editors.
Take a look at my sample Gone in the Blink of an Eye. I can't wait until I cut one of those together with 24p footage.
I'm also going to put up a demo I sent out to a couple in Florida who wants their entire wedding package edited to TOOL! The demo is quite awesome and actually has 24p footage in it.
