Some tips to working with 2 shutter speed footage please

Can anyone give me some tips in working with 2fps? footage in CS4? I shot some footage at shutter speed 2, at 720 50fps but it plays all sped up and randomly loops all over the place when i try to edit it on a 25p timeline. Trying to re encode it results in the same thing. Downloaded the demo for Voltaic and it can't interpret the footage resulting in an error and crashes on PC. It plays fine on VLC player though at what it was originally recorded at.

Need a solution to finish my clip.

cheers in advance.

Shutter speed is not the same thing as fps - a shutter speed of 2 seconds is not equal to 2fps. You are still shooting 50fps, but some of those frames will be identical to each other.

When you bring that footage into the 25p timeline what you should end up with is 2 very blurry images a second with each one held for about 12-13 frames. It won't play back smoothly because of the way it has been recorded.

However, there should be nothing fundamentally different about how CS4 sees the clip. It should still play the clip back in the same way it plays back any other 720p50 footage. Do you have problems with any of your other footage? Do other clips from the GH1 usually crash Voltaic?

thanks for the reply and explanation. good to see another aussie here!

it is only clips shot with a shutter speed of 2 that voltaic and CS4 doesn't like. i have tried other normal clips and they work fine in voltaic.

what it looks like in premiere is instead of holding for 12-13frames as it should it drops those frames and just jumps to the next changed frame creating a time lapse look but randomly and repeating itself through out the proper length of the clip. for example person is walking past then it repeats that section a couple times before jumping to some other random spot in the clip and repeating that, all sped up.

could it possibly be some CS4 setting that automatically drops frames? I mean i dont mind the sped up look i just need a reliable file even if its re-encoded to work with.
