Looking for an experienced DP who has shot with SLR cameras for a video shoot. Preferably someone with experience with the Merlin Stedicam. This is for a signed artist for a major urban label.

Location: New York
it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
Compensation: no pay
PostingID: "

Major label........ Signed Artist....... No pay! Yay!

Correction to your post, "major urban label", doesnt mean major lable, and signed artist does mean squat.
Im sure the hobos downtown will sign me to their urban lable if i gave them a dollar.

I enjoy that they said 'SLR camera'... meaning it shoots 35mm photography celluloid film. Either a noob mistake, or they've got themselves a very cool and expensive concept!

Well, the EOS 1V shoots 10 frames per second. 3.5 seconds per take, and the motions a little choppy, but hey it's all in the name of art, right?

I always like the sound mixer/boom op posts that all sound something like this. "No pay but great for your reel. We have a maroon dslr (still in the works, on layaway) and a fishing/boom pole thingy and a flashlight (with batteries!!!!), but bring your $120,000. worth of soundie gear and pack your own lunch (be a dear and bring some extra fruit cups for the crew, yumm). Remember this is a no pay (twenty three hours per day six week shoot but it could go longer, we have to stay on schedule, this is low budget after all, we aren't made of money), you'll have to pay for parking or you can just drag your gear on the bus (might be easier come to think of it) (Frank has a moped and an extra helmet but it shouldn't come to that, you're an adult after all). My cousins hairdressers next door neighbor used to give hj's to a very high up maintenance man at one of the mini majors that just shut down so this will get seen and beloved by the folks that really count. Please don't apply unless you're serious about great super duper sound and have at least fourteen years experience (major studio features only, please be nonunion and a pisces). Remember this is an opportunity for you, not us. We're hip, cool and very indie (lots of piercings). This is run and gun and you'll need to get in the spirit (smoke weed with the crew so we know you're not a narc. You'll probably be at least twenty five years old (we can't be to careful). Don't be a meanie or a meat eater (bad vibes). Some people say I the director reminds them of Godard but not so French and not so pretentious. We'll send you a note when the film is bought by a studio and we get rich and you'll for sure be our first choice for our next no pay/ pack your own lunch epic. I had to think long and hard about if we even needed sound, the camera records sound after all and maybe the actors could just shout kinda loud but you lucked out and we are going to allow a sound or recorder dude (my pet name, no way I can be expected to remember the sound mixers name) on set as long as he doesn't get in the way. Ciao. P.S. I'm moving halfway thru the shoot and I'll expect you to show up on the one day off and lend a hand, apartments don't move themselves."
