Some quick first footage from my Panavision HD900F (aka Panavised F900)

Just a few shots up at Loveland Pass in Colorado. I had to shoot kind of quick given a storm was rolling in and the wind was terrible.

Footage is very reminiscent of Rodriguez ‘Once upon a time ...’ vision for obvious reasons. Do we know the difference between this and standard f900?

I was thinking the same thing. There are many differences between the F900 and Panavision camera. The external changes are obvious by looking but that does not affect picture quality. The CCD Block in the panavision camera is calibrated differently in the gain and pre gain amplifiers and their pre optical filter handles Light frequencies in the red channel better. I have an old book called Digital Cinematography which explains all this in detail.. its a very good read for this camera.

Hey Mike, I saw a Panavised F900 on ebay recently (it may still be there).
Does yours feature the different mount? This particular one had a weird panavision B4 mount which I believe was used only for some of their converted cine zooms (canon?).
I also once read through that digital cinematography book years ago, a good read!

That camera on ebay might have been mine. The Panavision camera i bought came with all of the external and internal modifications. I have another F900 body and i put the PV front plate from my camera onto the other 900 body and was trying to sell it. I took it down recently and decided just to hold onto the body for parts incase anything craps out on my panavision camera. The lens mount from panavision was for their insanely sharp Primo Digital lenses which are not for sale and you can not attach a normal B4 lens with that mount. It also was missing the very important control panel which you need to operate shutter, menus, black balance, etc.

and the book.. yes, its a godsend for someone like me! Very amazing stuff! Would love to meet Paul Wheeler someday!
