Hey All-
I just got a new 100b and I'm going to be editing on an Avid adrenaline.
I'm planning to shoot in 24p and eventually export mainly to DVD (non broadcast as far as we know).
Do I need to edit my project in 24? Does it make that much of a difference?
Also, does DVD handle 24p nicely?

Any help would be great.

1) Need, no. Should, yes.

2) Yes. In fact, you have to if you want to make a 24p DVD.

3) Yes. Watch any Hollywood movie.

For details, there is a WEALTH of information all over this site. Take some time to search and browse and all will be revealed.

OK so if your most likely not going to boradcast and will be editing in a 24fps timeline and outputting to DVD I might suggest shooting in 24pa.

So the only issue with editing in 24p would be if I import other sources, right?
Like archival footage or stills that are in 24p?

You guys are the bomb. Thanks!

Still images wont be a problem in a 24p timeline... archival VIDEO footage would be in 60i I assume... now the next step depends on on your NLE

editing on an Avid Adrenaline.
If I get the archival on standard video and import it into a 24p timline, it will make the footage jumpy, out of sorts, right?
