GH2 Some questions regarding features of GH2

I'm extremely interested in this camera, just have a few questions

1 how well does it take pictures while recording video? This is something I have wanted for years when I go to Rally New York races. Is there any kind of lag in the video or while recording? Anything I should watch for?

2 I read that it normally takes 5FPS at full resolution, but can do 40FPS using some kind of electronic system. What's the down side to that? Just lower quality/size?

3 How do you hook up other lens (nikon, etc)? You need an adapter, I amuse, just wanting to make sure and how I go about finding them.

4 has anyone had experience with Pentax lens? My mom used to do photography back in the 90's and has quite a few lens for her Pentax film camera, and I hear they work pretty good with the GH2. But I don't know so is there anyone who has done it? Would save be quite a few bucks, though I know AF wouldn't be compatible.

Thanks

From: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/DMCGH2/DMCGH2VIDEO.HTM

"Up to 30 two-megapixel resolution still images can be captured during each video recording session, without pausing the recording (when recording is started from a still-image capture mode)."

and

"Up to 8 full-resolution still images can be captured per video recording session, but the video is paused briefly for each (also available only when recording is begun from a still-image capture mode)."

It is called burst mode. Pictures are 4MP and you can only do it for a second or so until the buffer fills up and the camera has to stop taking pictures and write the files to the card.

I use this $24 adapter for my Nikon lenses: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002U4QP9O?tag=battleforthew-20

You will need an inexpensive adapter for each lens type (Nikon, Canon FD, Minolta, etc.). You want lenses with manual aperture rings (not including lenses like Canon EF or EF-S).

Good reviews on this $30 Fotodiox Pentax K mount adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Adapter-K-mount-Olympus-Panasonic/dp/B003EAS5SW?tag=battleforthew-20

Your're right. Your adapted lenses would be manual aperture (if they have an aperture ring) and manual focus.

Thanks

Hope this is helpful,

Bill
