Some questions about the HVX200 from a guy who knows nothing about them.

Hi everyone!

I currently work for a wedding videography company in Hawaii, and I lurk around on these forums from time to time.

I joined the company right when they switched to HDSLRs, and as a photographer, I am familiar with the equipment.

However, they also had two Panasonic HVX200s, which we are in the process of trying to get rid of. The first one we sold already, but the second one I have been tasked with getting rid of. Anyway, I know nothing about these things, and so I thought I'd ask you guys for some insight. I've done some research for myself, but it's a bit overwhelming. So let me tell you what I do know:

It's a Panasonic HVX200P
2x Batteries
2x 16gb P2 R-Series cards
1x 32gb P2 E-Series card

I see a lot of people posting the usage hours, but I have no idea how to check that.

We also have a Focus Enhancements FS-100 160GB Portable DTE Recorder that I need to get rid of.

So from what I've seen, the HVX + Accessories is worth somewhere around $2500? And the DTE Recorder is maybe around $500?

Anyway, if you guys could help me out, I'd really appreciate it!

Do you have all of the original accessories, the original box, and is a case included? Those Firestores aren't in demand as much and there are 250GB FS-100's on ebay for 500 buy it now, so you might be a little high there. Otherwise I'd say your in the right ball park price wise, maybe a tad high, check recent ebay auctions to see what people are actually willing to pay. You can access the hour meter through the menus, it is under the menu heading "other functions" i believe without having my camera on me. It gives two listings one for total operation hours and one for the tape heads, you'll want the total operation hours.

We have all the manuals and accessories I believe, but not the box. We do, however, have two cases. One is a shoulder bag, the other is a backpack designed for the HVX. I checked the hours, and it looks like it has 391 hours. Is that a lot?

So would $2500~ be a fair price for the whole lot?

Are you willing to sell any of the P2 cards separately? I'm looking for either the 1 32GB card or the 2 16GB cards for around $425.00.
 
Firestores aren't worth much over 200 or 250. #91 hours is relatively low. i got a cam with only 109 hours on craigslist for 1750 recently. it came with one 8 gig p2 card. I'd say your p2 cards are worth 1 grand. (250-300 each for the 16 gb and 500-600 for the 32 gb) the cam, bags and batts are probably worth 1500 w/o p2 included. If you sell on ebay maybe a little more. I buy and sell on ebay a lot. i would recommend selling the camera, bags, the fire store and (2) 16 gb p2 as a set. Start the action at 1500 with no reserve. I know you want more but if you start to high no one will bid. if you start low it should get over 2000. the more items you include the better it sounds so throwing the fire store in should get you and extra few hundred. Its important to list each item included.(bag, 2 P2 cards, camera with ___hours etc. Give both dv and operational hours. (found in the same menu, but only when the select swith on the back is set to DV) I'd then sell the 32 gb p2 separate. It should get you a min of 400 but probably 500-600.

Selling any ware but ebay will result in lower value. If your interested in having me sell it all on ebay for you send me a PM. I'm sure we can work out a good deal.
