Planning to buy a7s, but having some question
1) How long is the battery life for a7s while recording video. Each nex battery can last how long?

2) I got some of this memory cards, can it work with XAVC-S code? i think can't right?

3) i only can found this v-mount external battery option, any other v-mount solution for a7s so far?

4) A7s users please share link, pic of your a7s rig if u got, would like to see any good rig i can use for a7s or not.

1) I was getting about 1 hour continuous - or about 3 hours off and on B roll shooting. I turned on Airplane mode. I've heard that disabling the autoswitch sensor between EVF helps too, but I haven't tried it. All in all it wasn't bad for the type of work I do.

2) 64GB min for xavc-s.

3) dunno.

4) I bought the Movcam cage, haven't gotten it yet. It's available at a significant discount on ebay.

Thanks for the answer. So for the memory card it will be SDXC I or II can be use for it. Yeah saw the movcam quite nice, but will wait and see again got other better option for a7s or not

I get about 2-3 hours MAX. This thing is a pig on batteries. Or maybe it isn't, maybe the battery is ships with is just crap. In any case, definitely looking for a better power solution.

I thought of buying an Ikan AC-107s Adapter Plate and then putting it on a Movcam cage with a Sony NP-F970L battery(6300 mAH); then plugging the connector into the power connector. Would this work? The battery is 7.2 V but 6300mAH. The Sony batteries that come with the camera are rated as 1020 mAH.
I know it would add weight but it would give me piece of mind at an event.
Any thoughts from anyone? Thanks...

We are coming up with a power solution based on using common DV batteries. The FW50 V adapter accepts one of the high capacity batteries, and powers the camera using a DC coupler (dummy battery) which is included. We are looking for Beta testers located in US. PM if interested. Cheers.

Having used the A7s now quite a bit, I must say that the batteries last longer than I expected. Especially if you're not shooting continuously. The two batteries that came with the camera has lasted me all day on most shoots. And if you make sure to put the first one on charge as soon as it runs out, you are covered for sure. This is of course assuming some breaks for set ups etc. Shooting a long live event etc would be a different story.
