Some question after reading the manual

Hello Everybody!


got a few questions after reading the manual which i dont really understand, if anybody can help.


It says "the 720p/25pn format is not included in the DVCpro-HD recording format" Does this mean that when shooting 720p/25Pn it records in the DVCpro50 codec only?


and..

In the recording format chart in the manual it says that "using DVCpro50 with 4-channel audio you can record 16min on a p2 card" does this mean that when using 2 channel audio there is more recording time?

Hi there,

It has been translated from japanese, that's why it's a bit confusing. The DVCPRO-HD spec indeed, does not include "pn" modes (It's 50p) but that's simply a side note... Your footage will asbsolutely be DVCPRO-HD but the good thing will be that only the usable frames will be recorded on the card resulting in a smaller file. However you do need an editor that supports the 720 pn formats (Edius, Final Cut, Avid with a workaround) or Raylight and Cineform .


4 or 2 channel audio does not affect your recording time, different recording formats only do eg. (1080, 720pn, 720 25 over 50, DVCPRO 50, DV etc.)
