Those are the first samples from my new Redrock M2 35mm adaptor and DVX100. Once you get around all the adjustments and do a lot of experimenting with distance and zoom settings, it's very quick to setup. Just remember to write down the zoom/focus readings and lock them in place with gaffer tape.

The shots were done with Nikkor primes 50/1.4, 85/1.8 and 105/2.5. Both lenses wide open, shutter 1/25 - well yes - the beast swallows some light - but at least there is no prism getting it even darker. And the magnet flip-trick works very well:happy:

Yardsale, You have to be patient - it took 9 weeks before I got mine. I guess there is a heavy demand for the thing. Also the pre-payment was a bit of killer for me. But now I'm really happy!

moe52, since I'm still experimenting - and forgot to write down my scene settings. But the only settings i tweak are chroma level (+3), detail level (+3) 25P and master ped (-6). Other settings: normal gamma, normal matrix. V-detail: Thin.

I think you have to increase detail level - else you definitely want to apply unsharp mask in post. Those clips have also been colorcorrected - i needed a bit more contrast so next I'm trying to lower the master ped all the way down and boost the chroma level even higher and see what happens.

And yes - the 85mm/1.8 is just a wonderful piece of glass. I found an old mid-70's model - very worn on the outside but glass in perfect condition. Also using it on my Nikon D200!

Ya magnet trick does work. Everyone that doesnt belive so...try it. Good stuff man keep up the experimenting, as am i in those stages. Great quality though. Have yet to put it on a tripod, Still doing the handheld thing

does work, but not with dvx100B models. Sorry B's, me included. But thats okay, better to use a ext monitor to focus, and for steadicam times, well, just learn to deal with the filp, apparently you get used to it.

What gives?

That's the second thing I did not agree with about the 100a transitioning to the 100b.

It's suppose to be an upgraded model, so why do they take away the time lapse feature. Also, why would they "fix" the magnet trick. My roommate does it on his camcorder with no problems :crybaby:
 
Are you sure you guys are using a strong enough magnet?

I bought some from a dollar store and they didn't flip the image... but when I got some industrial strong ass magnets, they worked like a charm
