Hey All,

we've been busy ramping up production, but I know there has been some interest in the M2 adapter. The M2 is our current production version of the adapter (it's short for micro35 version 2) which has greatly improved image color, contrast, and clarity, and the adapter has been tested to be nearly lossless in light.

Here are some sample grabs from a DVX100a and the M2 adapter with a nikon 50mm f.1.4 lens of me running around in the yard. o post other than image flip. I am looking forward to others pulling together grabs and sample footage, so I can get back to productions that are longer than five minutes :)

I have to say these are the first images from your system that really convince me!

the pictures are sharp and most importantly don't look like you screwed some tube infront of the camera which was designed to work without any tubes infront of it!!! :-)

I think you did a great geat job!

Is the footage on the redrock site from the current version of the adapter? The images above seem sharper somehow - less fringing.

Great! The picture quality is very good but since we're talking about depth of field, the posted grabs and footages on www.redrockmicro.com are way more convincing from that point of view, particularly the third grab where everything seems to be in focus.
I'm not sure this post is marteking the M2 very well, particularly for those, if any, who've never heard of the Micro35.
I really look forward to seeing more grabs and video footages of this M2.

I think what these grabs show is that there is no grain from the ground glass. The first two show DOF and the last one shows great handling of low-light. These look clearer than anything I've seen before. Really nice stuff, Brian V.

Can't wait til you guys actually have this badboy in stock ready to ship asap! Cuz, i can't stand to wait.. for long periods of time... looking good though

Hey PK, I totally agree with that, and I'm very impressed by the quality of the grabs. I just meant that if I didn't know about the quality of the M1 I'd just watch those grabs as if they came directly from the DVX out of the box.
Those who never heard of the Micro35 might just go to the next thread not getting what it's all about.
I'll wait for Mortimer to post his stuff :)

Hey all -

Thanks for the feedback - always appreciated. I also just received a short clip from a DP with whom I was working who shot the DVX with the Redrock M2 adapter, and compared to a stock DVX (no adapter). No sound, but I think you get the point :)

Also, the M2 footage is a little shakey when he racks focus - definitely requires some practice (or even better a follow focus)

Brian

Hey Viz,
You may have to wait awhile (sorry) but the fact that it took my DP so long to receive the adapter (he did the tests, I just posted them) meant we couldn't shoot our initial short with it.

So instead when he finally did receive it, we just ran outside and shot some quick stuff (lol didn't even de-interlace them) - we want to do a lot more testing before we post anything though, to really see what the M2 is capable of.

Its high on the priority list - hopefully this weekend will have something up!
