Some East Coast Surfing

Hey,

Well i shot some Surfing Footage ther day, East Coast of Nova Scotia. There were sweet waves, And plenty of surfers. Its really my first shoot with the DVXB, since i got it back in Decemeber.
I have included two grabs, One with a warm look, and another with a more real, darker look. they are both fromthe same beach same day,
they just really show the different looks you can achieve with the DVXB

this one has a warmer look (in the middle of january)

The first one is pretty nice, although I think in the process of going warm, you just brought the reds out a lot. If that got toned down in favor of orangish yellow I think it'd look better. The rocks just look kinda washed over.

The second pic.....

Ok this is just my opinion but... Just because you make something look like long lost 8 mm footage taken by your dad in the 60s doesn't really mean it looks 'real' or 'dark'.

Heh, hope thats not too harsh but the second pic just looks grainy, washed out, and like you shot on horrible film stock. I can't even make out the guys head.
 
yeah the second pic, is definatly not the greatest, Since the video was interlaced, and it was a Handheld shot (first Tripod) I had to De-interlace it, since ther was a lot of horizontal motion alot of artifacts :(
oh and i was manual Focus so this shot May not Even be in focus the Video, Was seeking Back and forth, which decreased the quailty even more. But yeah thanks For the COmments...

not Bad... not bad.... 12 out of possible 20.....
