Some Audio Issues Need Help

So I just got my HMC150, and I love it, however I'm having a small issue. I'm trying to connect my Shotgun Mic to the camera via XLR. Connecting everything alright, I had the dvx100b and basically just doing the same as I did with that, however for some reason it picks up little to no audio. If I set the volume level all the way up it will pick it up a little if I tap on it hard, but doesn't pick up much. Is there something I'm missing with the HMC150? i've been looking but can't find anything, seems the same as the DVX, which it worked fine on but with the HMC it's not.

btw the mic is connected to Input2, Channel 1 - Input 2, Channel 2 - Input 2, Input 1 - Off, Input 2 - On

I'm just guessing here, but it sounds like he had the mic/line switch set to line... I think we've all done that at least once... :)

Ya it was one of those =P, I was like doh! Stupid mistake. One question however totally off topic but didnt want to make another post

Anyone know if you can use the HMC150 as a Webcam on Mac? I use to use my DVX to capture straight to computer and it also allowed me to use the DVX as a webcam, however that was with firewire and I cant seem to get the HMC150 to do that, with USB or even DVI - > HDMI
