Solar panel and sensor tech

I hadn't considered that the same technology that can improve solar panels could also be used for camera sensors. But it makes sense.
This article is a little technical, but it sounds to me like improved lowlight/dynamic range sensors could be a benefit gained from such technology.

The problem with "new technology" is that the percentage of what works in the lab and what makes it out to the street is very low.
