Soft bands for K-tek KSSM

Sorry to have to bump this, but I'd like to get some feedback before I place my order with bh [in the morning].

Anyone know whether the "stock" bands on the KSSM are the "soft" bands referred to by Mattin and others?

Mount

Mount

I just went through this last week and they sure don't make it easy.
It appears that the regular mount (KSM) is available with the soft mounts pre-installed under B & H part# KTKSMS.

The short version of the mount (KSSM) doesn't seem to be offered that way. You'll also need to order B & H # KTKS30 for the softer mounts. Just to add insult to injury they're listed as a special order item.

I've received my KSSM with the regular mounts and by the time I load up the mic with BBG and fuzzy I'm thinking anything softer is gonna be pretty springy.

It really is a nice mount, you won't be disappointed. (Thanks Matt!)

Best Wishes.

Your problem is with your retailer choice. I keep saying this, no one seems to listen. B&H IS THE WORST PLACE TO BUY SOUND GEAR!!!! They don't know ANYTHING about the products they sell.

Any of the other major pro audio retailers will meet B&H's price and actually know a thing or two about what they sell you. It's a win/win situation.

Even more, these places will usually take back a product if it is not working for you. They usually don't have a "30 day return policy" but if you order the wrong bands or something, they will almost always replace them with the correct ones. Even better, if you explain what you are buying something for they will point you in the best direction.

For all those reasons, why would anyone buy from B&H?

Cheers

Thanks for the advice, guys.

Pixelated, I'm glad you pointed out that the bands are available as a "special order". Personally, I don't have the luxury of the additional wait time, not to mention paying extra to get the bands that I really need.

Wabbit, I had decided on purchasing from B&H simply because it was one-stop shopping. I had checked out Trew's site, but they didn't have the BBG and jammer listed.

After reading your post, I decided to call Trew instead. They DO offer those products. In addition to having these accessories, they informed me that all the KSSM's come with SOFT BANDS by default.

In the end, not only did I get everything I needed from one place, but I got personalized service from a knowledgable rep (thanks Tyler). The icing on the cake - I SAVED $32!!!

I should have mentioned earlier that the soft bands on the KSSM from Trew are by default. Ordered one last week and it's been serving me great!. Th size of this thing is very small and attractive, IMO.
