k, this is a work in progress but I probably won't get to more editing for a while...this is from my daughter's game yesterday. I'm hoping to make it into a 3 or 4 minute piece for the team....kinda similar to what I did for my son's baseball team (http://www.pinelakefilms.com/baseballblockbuster.html)

Any interlacing artifacts you see is a result of the compression, not the original, so I'm not worried about it for now.

Anyway, enjoy all 40 seconds of it:

Really cool D Man

Personally I can't stand SOccer (pick that rock up and run with it already! Throw it! I'm open! I'm open!)

But you made this a nice fun look. Filmic; fun and ebergetic. Very nice; your attention in capturing the 'human element' is a nice touch

PS I always loved your baseball work but had a question:

How can, in Seattle of all places, there be a little league filed without infield grass?

a big misconeption is it is always raining here in seattle, when really it rains winter and fall, but this summer was dry as a bone, we even had a short threat of drought

Ahh, John, just turned the TV off. Brazil one Bolivia one. It's imposible to beat those guys at 3.6K altitude...

I like Footbal too, but soccer is really cool. Besides, it's much easier to just play it with guys, don't need all that hardware and that much referees... ;)

Footage is looking good as always. and it's getting to look like a very cool edit. I agree with john. Good personal elements. Tell the story from the people's reactions, since you don't have a sports coverage team covering all the shots...

Myfriendimage, that almost made me laugh...a drought in Seattle. I lived up there for three years and the one thing western Washington is in no short supply of is water. I think every year I was up there they said something about a drought right before it started raining balls. Don't get me wrong I loved it up there. The weather was cool to live in for three years.

Disjecta, I liked the look of the clip. Sucks about that interlacing.

Not only do the music choices fit perfectly, but the colors are so vibrant in all your films. Truly artistic.

Pss...my teaching colleagues like your films too.

Baseball is uniquely American, and Steven is uniquely Irish. A Dublin man. When he was filming at the games, he didn't know when or what to cheer, so he learned a few catch phrases ("good eye!", "way to go", and when feeling confident, "Wuhoo! " ) and kept an eye on me. I'm one of those Mom's with loads of "team spirit". :) Zachary tried and tried to banish me from the games, so I finally had to dial down. He forbid me to say the word "babe". That really took all the fun out if it. :)

I'm with you, Hudson, regarding soccer. It's like the Irish dance of sports. If God meant for us to dance or play sports without using our arms, he would have made them detachable so we could just unscrew them and put them in our lockers until after the game.

I'm just sayin' . . .

Ah, Dallas, don't make me go there and teach you how to play it! :)

How come you call something footbal, if you use your hands most of the time and you don't use a ball? That is the greatest enigma. I mean. Using your hands, sure, there is volleyball, basketball, handball, but if you don't have a friggin BALL, how come you can classify a sport as a ___ball?

Ah, nevermind. Your kids are cool!

I cannot help you with your cheering, because correct soccer chearing is at least R rated. And involves not making many friends with the poor judges...

Cheers!

Once again, I'm blown away by the images you've produced from the DVX. Great shot selection and editing. I just watched the baseball piece. I'm sure these kids parents were VERY happy with your work. Thanks for the inspiration.

Again, impressive. I must ask, I know this is getting old with all these questions. It looks like it might have been a cloudy day to some sort. Was it? Also, for this particular shoot, what settings did you use? Ahhhhh, nevermind. Too many questions to the Disjecta. Keep up the good work.

Great looking material Disjecta! I watch your stuff and ALWAYS wait for the dialogue and characters to begin their scenes and then I realize that I'm not @ the movies watching the latest release....... You are one of the best my friend. Why aren't you filming a script?

Football (Soccer) is the greatest sport on the planet. Those who think it not "manly" enough have obviously never taken football studs down the shin, or a forehead and/or football boot on the nose!

I'd really like to view your video, but I'm getting a "page cannot be displayed" error. Too bad your daughter plays for a team called Celtic, I think Rangers is a much better name.
