GH3 So what's the general consensus of the GH3 moire issue so far...

GH3 Improvements
- Better dynamic range
- Lower image noise at High ISO speeds
- 3.5mm Headphone Jack to monitor audio
- LPCM Audio Support
- 1080 60p Support
- Higher bitrate stock formats
- Recordable clean HDMI output
- Better RAW photos
- Better LCD display
- Larger weatherproof body
- Larger battery that lasts longer
- Battery grip
- WiFi camera control
- Wireless external flash control

Good list, Dingo. Some of this has already been raised, but there are a couple of other little things where Panasonic listened to us:

- 3.5mm mic input (this is going to mean a big reduction in Hosa GPM-467 2.5mm adapter sales :))
- Better out-of-camera JPEG photos (in addition to better RAW)
- OLED Viewfinder (in addition to the OLED display)
- more (and more user customizable) physical controls, to include two control wheels
- time lapse intervalometer
- in camera HDR
- silent electronic shutter
- wi-fi

I wish they had kept the multi-aspect sensor and put XLR inputs in the battery grip, but this is a very impressive list in an amazingly good still/video camera - especially for the price.

Cheers,

Bill

None of you guys mentioned real timecode.

...I am pretty excited about a WiFi camera control after watching Driftwood's WiFi demo. ( works with any iPhone/iPad or Android Phone/Tablet )

Nick Driftwood GH3 Tests : Review 5 : WiFi Demo

If our Russian hacker friends get a hold of this, we might be able to pre-program smooth combinations of zoom/focus-pull/exposure changes all via the WiFi interface.

Driftwoods Review 3 is also worth checking out. ( download the file to watch it in 1080 HD )

Yeaaaah but right now it doesn't work while recording. Still cool though.

Anyway, back on topic: blah moiré it's terrible. I hate sony!

No idea...I mean, it gives timecode with a few options so it would be possible to sync audio pretty easily? not sure what you're asking, anyone else want to chime in here?

Is is it possible to jam sync the time code like you can with a af 100?

Currently there isn't a method to jam timecode. Wouldn't surprise me if they developed a way to sync timecode through wifi to a slate or app of some sort but currently the best you can do is time of day TC.
