GH2 So, what's everyone's favorite patch? And, if you didn't hack your GH2, why not?

I been using flowmotion 2 as well. only time I froze it was when I cranked the iso to 12,800 just to see how well it did with some stress. Im just using a basic class 10 32gig card. But I imagine with a better card it would be fine.

I have a quick question, I filled my card, then I put in another one that is blank. I havent shot with it yet, but am wondering if the hack will still be in cam, without having the firmware file on the directory. Do I need to have that firmware file on everycard for it to work? Cant test it till I get home so I thought it would be easier to ask here. thanks in advance.

After you update the GH2 firmware with a patch that you've copied to an SD card, the patched firmware is permanently installed in the camera. The patch will continue to work every time you turn on the camera, until you replace it with another patch, whenever you wish to do so. There is no need to keep the firmware file on the SD card after installing the patch - you can freely reformat the card for other purposes.

Flowmotion gives me errors immediately when I pan or something moves. 32 gb sandisk class 10, 45mbps. I assumed it was my card, switched to driftwood cluster v6 and haven't had an error.Unsure of what card works well with flowmotion.

Could you provided some more details on your shooting conditions and the video mode you're using? There are certain circumstances that can cause sporatic recording errors, along with recommendations for how to avoid them.

Manual Movie Mode, 720p,SH. Low light bedroom, was testing pancake lens, manual to iA. Both modes got card errors. The error warned me my card could not keep up,recording was being turned off.

I read online about my sandisk class 10 uhs1 cards and 45mbps actually being slower than shxc. I honestly thought that was my issue so I installed cluster v6. No matter what I have recorded in, no card issues. Disclaimer: I am still learning the gh2, flowmotion was my first try at installing hack, and I had just gotten my first lens that could actually record iA. I got the error inside and outside. One with my daughter in driveway, 720p, SH, iA. The 5 seconds that recorded was the best I had ever seeen, but again, it stopped recording with card message.

Sorry you encountered recording errors using Lumix auto-focus lenses in 720p SH mode. In Flow Motion v2, the 100Mbps SH mode is optimized for shooting with manual-focus lenses in manual exposure modes. When shooting in 720p using the camera's auto-exposure features, I recommend using Flow Motion's H mode. The H video mode works exactly the same as SH mode, but with a peak bitrate limited to 60Mbps to insure 4GB file-spanning and absolute reliability with the camera's consumer-friendly features.

That's right, I developed Flow Motion v2, using Vitaliy Kisalev's PTool 3.65d, along with cbrandin's Stream Parser 2.7. I couldn't have done it without their help!
