So What Happened to the D750 for filmmakers?

The big advantage shooting 4k on DSLR's is much improved aliasing and moire due to the higher spatial frequency. Scale to 1080p reduces noise a bit too.
But I still prefer uncompressed 2k raw over any form of compressed 4k H.264. Shooting FF for shallow DOF, 4k resolution is completely irrelevant. You aren't even seeing 2k if you miss focus by a pixel width.

Hey guys --

I have been shooting a documentary for a few months now and one of my two D610 broke, so I'm looking for a new camera. If I'd get a D750, will the footage blend well into my existing D610 footage and footage taken with a D610 as a B camera? Will the footage be much different at all??

Cheers!

I quite like the look of my D810 and the 60p for sure looks better than the GH4 at 60p (re aliasing, etc), even with the low bit rate.

But I find myself still mostly shooting 4k with the GH4 for 24/30p stuff. No aliasing at all and lots of reframing/stabilizing room, even with worse color palate than the Nikon.

Your colors should match or at least come close to the previous footage.

Yes, it should be pretty close. I haven't tried those two in particular, but I've tested several Nikon cameras and if you use the same picture control they come out pretty close to each other. You may have to blur the D750 material a tiny bit, but that's about it.

Hey Samuel...from your experience, which ones of your picture profiles do you think are the best if someone wants to match Canon and Nikon footage? Im using your Flaat_10 on my Canons (really like it) but I ll have to shoot a wedding in a couple of weeks where the second videographer will be using a Nikon D600. I ll be using the canon 70D. Do you think I should also mess with WB shift?

I'm afraid my profiles are not designed to make the cameras match easily, but to get the best performance out of each one separatedly. Skin tones should be similar, but everything else can differ.
