So then, when is it coming?

Now it is the end of the year, there's still no release date and the established info has not grown a bit. Will the HVX be pushed back deep into 2006?

The release date is December. It could be Dec 1 or Dec 31. All indications from reading through the many threads here is that people will start seeing cameras in their hands the week of Dec 20.

European customers should see them in March 2006.
Maybe before but I can't believe in some european Panasonic reps that announce February or even January. I have a friend of mine that told me that he waits for a five HVX delivery next January and he said to me that he has already a Panasonic rep confirmation but I shouldn't be so sure! Also I heard from the mouth of an important Panasonic national rep that they already had HVX footage available. They promissed to send me a DVD this week, but again I don't believe! Maybe the HVX promo with Varicam footage...(for sure! we wait and see!)

I would be willing to bet the DVD you will receive is the standard one that does not include footage shot with the HVX. As far as we have heard, the only footage anyone has seen as been from the "hand built at the factory" RESFEST camera that Jan has had with her....in other words, just the 1080i footage. For as much buzz as there is about the camera, you know that once footage is available for the public it will be a big presentation. DV Expo is at the beginning of December in Los Angeles.....let's see where everything stands after that point.....

***See the Panasonic "Tosh Blogs"....They are indicating the Music Video shot with the camera will be debuted at DV Expo....all about the presentation ya know?!?!?

 But here, in Europe, between Panasonic troops, it rules the chaos!... If you know what I already heard about HVX...

<PS> They said to me that it's IBC footage plus another one that they (Panasonic official rep) received from japanese mother house!

<PS2> Aaaah!...and another point: the price and the bundles are the same than US but afterwards I received another info where I could read only one €10000 2x8GB P2 bundle.

<PS3> And they said to me that the european warranty runs only in the purchase origin country. If you are abroad and you need for Panasonic Technical support, you can go to the local national Panasonic but you must pay the bill and after you go to your national rep where they refund you. It works like this, according this Panasonic rep source.
