This is quite ironic because before I purchased my DVX, I did tons of research online about it and the different frame rates and all that. I felt like I was all set and that I would have no problem figuring it out. Then I got it, and I realized I had tons of questions in terms of frame rates and editing. So here's what i came up with:
1.) From what I understand, the 60i mode is making 60 fields and making them into 30fps video....if so, why does it look so much smoother than the 30fps progressive?
2.) I'm goin to be mixing this dvx footage with my old gl2 footage on a regular 30fps timeline in premier pro 1.5, and the 60i footage looks more similar to the gl footage in terms of smoothness. But there is a problem, when I import the 60i footage, its all glitchy.....like itll go maybe 10 frames foward then it will go backwards one or two then foward 10. When played full speed...it it unusable and ugly. Am I doing something wrong?
3.) Do I need premier pro 2.0 to edit 60i footage?
I got the 24p thing covered, but right now I'm really not sure if I should shoot 60i or 30p.
Sorry for all the noob questions.
