So I am a student and this is the first short film I have ever directed. Its actually the first time I have ever used a camera. I relied heavily on creating an atmosphere in this film and a style rather than the story and dialogue, hence the later two elements being subpar. Thoughts on it? I was really trying to create a style and feel rather than a compelling story this time around.

It was shot on 16mm and edited on a steembeck.

I thought it was decent, audio was clean, I'm not a huge fan of the simulated film look with adding dust, and scratches etc... There are times it can work, but the image is still much to clean for it be in any way convincing that it was actually shot on film.

overall I think you did a good job for it being your first time shooting a scene.

I forgot to add, I shot this on 16mm, hence the old film school look. I also edited on stembeck.

I think the video looked great. I think that your only issue was the terrible ADR and SFX. It was unnecessary to have them in there and just lowered the quality of the short.

Story should be the main focus of any film. It was an interesting short but the ADR really took me away from it. The rack focus was nice except for the fact that the main character was out of focus :P I really liked the music.
