So: HMC150 as an 'A' cam, Either the HMC40 or GH1 as the 'B/C' camera?

Working with the new setup... with the solder mount, custom cf rails and matte box.

Is starting to look very interesting, I'm very curious on your feedback... am thinking on going this route, but for now I'm just playing with my new "dvtec multirig pro" and a few other toys that just came in the mail today. But i really like this setup!

Let us know what you think!

Thanks,

It really is going to work better then I expected. The rail system is all from the skycraft and I just have to make a few more modifications. For run and gun I don't think I will need the french flags, just the matte box.

The one thing I am a little puzzled on is how the matte box works with lenses. Are people only using fixed lenses like 50mm primes or are you able to get a zoom lens to work with a matte box on the end?

I may just have the lens 'through' the opening with some felt or some sort so the lens can rotate.

I put a few clips together from the T1i, while one of our HMC's were mounted with a new Rode mic.... some of the clips came out pretty noisy - but I did have a f4+ lens on which is cutting out a lot of light...

Nothing special, but I love the DOF: http://vimeo.com/5955367

Thinking I like this setup also:

I was wondering how that works also....

Right now it fits exactly through the opening for the 72mm adapter for the HMC. So its snugly fit onto the part of the lens after the zoom. I have the adapter on the way for the canon lens, and I plan to use a 50mm prime to maximize low light and not have to worry about a zoom lens moving in length.

Once I get the right adapter I wont use the rails with the zoom lens, just attach it to end. Its pretty light.
