So has TV show production also stopped?

I hardly ever see any TV but I know many of you do and some on here actually even work in Hollywood. So has TV and movie production stopped during the last month or so? I'm talking about narrative TV shows and cinema, not shows like SNL and WWE.
Since theaters have been closed is any production or pre-production going on in Hollywood?

I was one week out from rolling cameras on an HBO series in March. They sent us home on March 13th. Every scripted show went down by the end of the month.

We have seen tons of speculation and our guilds and unions are all meeting with the studios to work out various game plans. Deadline and the Reporter have various articles on this.

NorBro, I sure hope you are wrong but we'll see just have to see how it all goes. Everything depends on what we are allowed to do from a government level first and then via the insurance and bond companies.

Even if it's allowed with certain protocols, I think that widely available rapid testing and immunity is necessary or many people simply will not work as they used to.

It needs to be rendered harmless or it will never go away and things will never be the same (which shouldn't be a surprise because that's what infectious diseases do, but it is a surprise because this one and its impact is unprecedented for the modern world).

With that said, I think the mental damage is done. Actors/actresses (and people, in general) will think twice about getting close to each other (and certain scenes - stories - contact - etc. will be questioned).

California is supposed to be slowly restarting on Friday. A typical TV season gets its scripts by July and begins shooting by August. A streaming universe is probably a 12-month non-cycle of comings and goings. And there's probably a huge script overload.

I was 2 weeks from going to camera on a showtime series in NOLA.

The entire production world shut down. I was working with A very well known actor just before he went off to Venice to start on Mission Impossible. They were one if the first to shut down.

A couple of weeks ago a small long running soap in Australia was one of the first, if not the first to start up again.

I’m talking to studio execs right now to try and figure out a way to come back to work once we’re allowed to.

This is going to be really difficult. Most likely too, driven by the lead actors. It’s going to depend on how much they want to work.

UFC 249 got over 700,000 PPV's. Played to empty seats. I hear. Their cut is ~ 50% and the event was priced at $65. So, about $20M in revenues.
