So finally... some stills

Well I figured I should post SOMETHING on here so why not start at the start...

This is actually some of the very first stuff I shot with the DVX whhen I got it last summer. These atre from a short film I was shooting made completly by me (written, directed, shot, edited, starring, ect) It was meant as an exercise to show aspiring filmmakers who always complained thet they, "Didnt have anyone to make movies with" to quit making excuses ans start making movies. I considered what types of camera work I would be able to do on my own and built a story that would be complimented by said camera work. Nothing super special but...

This last one was from some nature stuff I shot around the same time. I waited quite a while to get this shot with the hummingbird but it was worth it in the long run.

Hmm... tried them on a different comp and they worked fine for me as well. Not sure whats up.

Thanks for the comments Andrew. Like I said, nothing special but i figured I should put SOMETHING on here. Better stuff hopefully coming soon.

hey, i was just wondering...

what were the settings on the last grab? I noticed some edge-tearing on the humming bird and wondered if you were shooting 60i, or 24p, and also your shutter speed.

Odd.. it be Norton firewall that locked me out. >:( So a bit of rewiring set it good. ;D Nice grabs by the way.

I notice a ALOT of chroma noise around the highlighted areas. Strange...

I noticed the noise, too. Does the video look like that in playback? Or is it just something about the way you extracted the frames?

Yeah a while back I needed to put togethere a little DVX demo but my comp was down so i did a camera to camera rig with RCA. As a result there is some noise and generation loss. When i went to rip these I just pulled off that tape snce i came across it first.

It doesn't tickle my fancy. I think the humming bird shot was interesting, but the others were ehh.. 8)
