ahem. . .getting back to the spider "movies" and Venom, that means they would have to show something of the Secret Wars, where Parker obtains the symbiote suit. And by showing the Secret Wars, they would have to show the X-men, The Hulk, The Fantastic Four, Dr. Doom, etc. Imagine all the copyright legalities between the studios which own only certain properties of Marvel. Sheesh!
i just saw spiderman 2 this week. it was very well done...it definitly took some strange turns, and made peter feel much more human and dark. the "rain drops keep falling on my head" scene felt like a scene from an art film. i loved the visuals in this movie as well as some of the great dialoge and storypoints. it definitly felt like it was writen by a real person. the stuff at the part for the astronaught dude was great...i loved how peter and harry talk a bit, and harry is getting toasted, then later, after he is now wasted confronts peter and is something like "no, i really want you to tell me who he is" its like real **** you would expect from a friend at a party...just real life shite...as well as the whole little poetry thing...when doc told him to read her poetry, i was like oh god...CHEEESE....but then when he tries, not only does he have bad timing...but she is like "whatever that means" SO perfect...i was so expecting it to be cheese hollywood bullshite, but they fliped it a bit.
i loved the train scene after he had stoped it...and how people started to except him for a good guy. i totaly digged that he had his face revealed as well. i thought the train scene up to that point was a little over the top. and a little too fake. that was my only problem witht he movie, was that the action scenes were overly CG. i thought the crazy spining camera moves on the side of the buidling were just way too much, and were such a jump in contrast from the rest of the movie. its like...here is real pete jumping up into the air (with real camera equipment)...and now here is CG spiderman flying to the top of a builiding and rolling down it chaoticly with CG doc oc. too much, i wish when we got into parts that have to be cg, that film makers would treat those scenes as fillms, and not video games, shoot them like you would a piece of live action. for me anyway it wouldnt make it such a disconnect. but, im sure 90% of the people who saw it probly thought it was the most bitchin thing ever, and want MORE MORE. anyway, the rest of the movie was great.
i totaly dug the ending as well...he got the girl, and she excepts him for who he is and encourages him....totaly rad!
One thing I will say about the realistic camera moves in the CG shots. If you watch, (especially in the first one) when a camera is following Spidey while he is webslinging, it is played out as though there is an actual camera man swinging behind him. The arcs of the swing are timed correctly as if someone were trying to keep up with him, and every shot isn't alway perfectly composed, and sometimes he leaves the frame almost entirely and the camera has to catch up with him.
the websling stuff in the first movie was pretty cool. but parts like the first time he climbed a wall in the first movie...it was so unrealistic, the camera move was so videogame/cg...nothing about it was based in reality...it took me right out of the moment. same goes for the fight scene with doc on the side of the building. i just wish they would shoot them a bit more realistic, and let the action speak for its self.
yeah those helicopters were crappy..i forgot about those...wtf was up with them? looked like they were trying to chase spidy...made no sence. and they were poorly animated and composited.
