snowboard shot

Re: snowboard shot

looks like film to be... 16mm maybe?

the sky has some nice exposure, along with the rest of the ground/snow which is why I say film, better lattitude with film.

Of course I could be wrong.(I usually am)

Re: snowboard shot

all the highquality action videos are shot in 16mm. they are also 80% overcranked to 32 - 60 fps for the slomo. these shots are also 16mm. they flows an enromous amount of marketing money into thses films. i competed a while with them in the 90s, but was never able to pull the budgets that are paid in the US. a halfdecent 16mm-sports-actionmovie needs at least 150.000 to be produced. there are huge travelcosts, because you might end up in a french valley paying a hotelroom for the crew for 3 weeks until the sun and snow are perfect.....or you fly 50 helihours in alaska and don´t get the shots you planned due to avalanches, weather etc.

so admire these movies, cos they are a 24/7 job for the producers.

Re: snowboard shot

Yup, I repect these movies. Warren Miller being the grandaddy of 'em all.

Will see what I can do this weekend up on the mountain. Let's see if I can get some footage to match. :)
