smudged buttons

I had noticed that in my Avid folder I had multiple duplicate folders. So I decided to reinstall Avid Xpress Pro HD 5.0. After the installation was complete, I started Avid and noticed that V, A1 and A2 buttons under the capture window were smudged a bit. They were smudged red and purple together. The program seemed to be functioning properly otherwise.

Anybody have this problem before? What is it? How can it be "fixed" to return to normal?

Well, I found a solution (sorta). I changed the style of the buttons to "convex" and "shaded." Now they look fine! I'm going to assume it is a tiny bug in the program that originally caused the problem.
