Hey guys, normally I'd shoot with primes, but for those shots where I want a zoom I have a hard time getting a smooth, consistent-speed. Specifically the kit lens (f/3.5 18-105). It ends up looking amateurish. Is there some trick to getting a smooth slow zoom? Maybe wrapping something around the ring that protrudes out several inches so you get a bigger range to turn with?
