Smooth tilt with Kessler crane ?

Hi,

I have the 12/8 kessler crane + HVX/M2/FS100.
I plane to buy a bogen 526 fluid head for to make a smooth tilt. It will be better with this fluid head ?

Not sure...but we have a Kessler Crane as well and the tilts we get smoothly by having the crane well-balanced using counterweights. We actually lock the fluid head. Then it is just a matter of standing behind it and giving it a polight swing up or down...

So you want a manual tilt in addition to the jib movement?

I've found it's a little difficult to do that with the manual handle.

Y'know what works as good as anything...that cheapo Bescor motorized head. Put it on the slowest speed. It doesn't give you a complete 90 degree range of motion but it does add an extra dynamic if done by someone with the touch.

The Kessler is awesome but does take a lot of practice like anything else.

Yes I would like make smooth manual tilt...

I thought that a fluid head would make a better smooth tilt. It's seem that no !
