Smooth Slow Motion

How do you get smooth slow motion. I shoot with a DVX100B in 24p and whenever I slow it down below 80%, it gets really choppy. Is there any way to make it smoother while still shooting in 24p?

Thanks!
Austin

Shoot 60i. shutter speed 1/120. Drop into After Effect as a composition. Right click on footage in timeline and go into Time/Time Stretch. Stretch by 200%.

60i isn't the same as 30p. If you're going to do slow-mo in post then start with a source that will give you the most motion information, 60i in this case.

after effects 7 has a great feature called pixel interpolation
when using the time remapping feature to slow footage down you can enable Pixel interpolation and itsead of just combineing frames together it actually creates its own frame. Its a great comprimise for a twixtor effect without additional plugins.
this tutorial from Andrew Kramer shows how to use it

re: After Effects..........ive never used it.
What are the advantages of having this software.
What's the latest version (stand alone)..not the new CS3 package.

Best place to buy?

Anyone have a copy for sale..with transferrable license?

Thanks.

After Effects is GREAT!

I've just got into it just about a week or two ago and I've gotta tell you, I cannot live without it in future projects now. It's that good.

I've had it for a while now and knew it's potential, but never really knew how to use it.

A great place where I learned several valuable skills, is the tutorials at www.videocopilot.com/

I strongly recommend it and I wish you the best in finding a copy because I think you will find it a really valuable tool in your post production workflow.
