GH4 Smooth iris with image app

Hi, last time I used my GH4 on a gimbal, I had to do a iris change while shooting (from F9 to F2, or something similar). Though it took almost a second to react, the iris went from F9 to F2 very smoothly. I tried the same thing today but the iris change wasn't smooth at all...it jumped from F9 to F2 instead of a gradual change.
is there a setting in the camera that can resolve this?
 
I don't believe so. I could be wrong, but I've spent a lot of time in those menus and haven't noticed anything applicable.
 
Wouldn't this depend more on the lens used than the camera? Unfortunately, most of the lenses we're offered are poorly designed for video use and just don't allow smooth iris transitions.
 
How did you make the aperture change? Was the camera in Manual mode, P, A, or S? The video you show seems like the camera was shooing in P or S mode, which I think would change aperture smoothly. Are you filming with the same setting?
