FS7: SMM SLog2 Vs Slog3

Of course I might want those LUTs..
But how would you make them.. you still have to make the exposure compensation in resolve. (which you would then save/export as a LUT)
Simply Im happy with the offset wheel but others have suggested this was not the correct approach.

Since I requested it as a feature, the rather amazing @cameramanBen Turley added a feature to LUTcalc which allows you to export an exposure-compensated "set" of LUTs from any gamut and gamma to any other. You can choose the total range of the set, as well as the increments you want.

OK - I think we all get changing exposure in post.

Does anyone (apart from Doug) have any concepts of my original 'thought' that..

Slog2 is better in controlled environments
Slog3 is better in uncontrolled environments.

(when shooting XAVC - not when converting from raw)

Hi Sam, I am glad with cineslog3 I use it all the time. Other formats as slog2 and Custom are temting but I stick to the workflow I know best. When I change settings I always forget to reset them afterwards. Always resulting in disaster.

Well I could do with a bit more depth than slog3 in my studio so it is to me worth considering 2 to see if that can deliver more. Bits per stop in exchange for stops which is what the Sony data sheet seems to suggest

That was a very good idea Jason!
