GH2 SmallHD DP4 users - is this normal?

I've had a SmallHD DP4 for a couple of months (bought second hand), and was giving it it's first proper workout at the weekend in a shoot.

The image was really grainy and off-colour compared to the GH2 flip-out screen, and even the lighting guy on the day asked me if I had it in focus assist or false color, as it was so unrepresentative of the footage being shot.

Is there something obvious I am doing wrong here in terms of set up?

You probably had it in focus assist mode. hit one of the buttons on top to see if it triggers on or off. Go into the menu and turn it off.

No it wasn't that. I mention that in my post, and it was checked at the time.

I had a similar issue a few days back. It looked like a mix of focus assist and false colour were on but when checking, they weren't. Had to pull the DP4 battery out momentarily to re set the monitor. Came back up fine.

It's only happened to me once, must be a little bug somewhere.

I have the GH3 and its quite close unless you have peaking on.
