I would stay away from HDMI based anything on the F5/F55. What a disaster Sony has made not supporting 23.98p/24p for 95% of monitors, transmitters and other devices. Utter disaster.
Go for SDI. I'm using the D7W which is pretty bright (400), high resolution 1280x800 and has lots of waveform, vector scope, RGB parade, false color, peaking, etc.. features. The price has dropped $200-$300 since I bought it.
You can also power it very easily right off the F55 using the hirose to 90 degree DC plug cable available from BH or you can build your own for less.
That's an ok solution (as is a decimator) if you really want HDMI to work badly but it's $400 for one of those. In my case I simply decided to go for a reasonable new SDI monitor but still pissed about the HDMI not working great on the F5/F55. The F3 had an option to apply a 2-3 pulldown to take the 24p and make it 60i compatible. Looks like the F5/F55 will never be able to do this... Sony hasn't replied to any inquiries. about it.
By the way incase anyone is looking for a very high bright output 7" monitor for outdoor or steadicam use I can not recommend this Marshal monitor enough! http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...nics_V_LCD70XHB_3GSDI_7_Field_Camera_Top.html (On a side note no idea if it can read the Sony 23.98/24p signal over HDMI but it does come in an SDI version as well)
Note that BH will try to tell you that the HDMI version is cheaper and can be fitted with an SDI connector but in fact it does not seem possible on the chassis or by opening it up to look for contacts on the circuit board. (was helping a friend who was conned to buy the HDMI version)
