FS7: Small town Christmas parade

Shot this parade today in the tiny town of Leiper's Fork, TN. 120FPS, Sigma 19mm F 1.8 and Tamron 70-200mm F 2.8 lenses, Rec 709, no grading.

Yep, I'm doing a quick grade later today to see how long it takes to get rid of the magenta. Should have used a custom preset but was in a hurry.

No. You should have done a manual white balance. Should be a breeze to grade though.

I thought only the 5600 preset had the problem - that "A" and "B" even if set to 5600 didn't have the magenta cast. I know I have "A" set to 4800 and the cast is negligable. Incorrect?

Don't understand how you did your white balance . Did you use the press auto button for A or B ?

I seldom use the AWB button, I always set A and B up for custom presets, in this case, 3200 and 4800. But for the video above, I used the third "P" setting, which I had set at 5600. From the other thread on this issue I had gotten the impression that the "P" (fixed) setting was the only one with the magenta issue.

They're all the same . In fact I figured out the offset by looking at the numbers in the A setting after doing an auto white - which I guess you now know gets rid of it

If you set your wb to 5600k you will get a magenta cast. As you bring the Kelvin value down to 3200. The magenta cast is no longer an issue. If you take a look at the thread FS7 magenta on this forum. There is a solution for now that uses the White temperature balance to shift the white on the magenta green axis. This should work for now.

It's very easy to fix the magenta cast in post for footage that has the cast baked in.

As I mentioned earlier, many previous cameras, both Panasonic and Sony have had this issue. I think this one wins the award though for being the most noticeable. Not sure how this slipped by Sony.
