Using the Small HD 702bright w/the ActionProducts wireless kit as a wireless client monitor solution and it works well. Problem is, no great place to hold it w/out any handles.

The 702 doesn't have threaded inserts on the sides or the bottom. Only the top. Anyone have a solution for this.

Thx!

My 702 has a thread on the bottom I use to connect to a ball head.

Going to be using mine as a client monitor for the first time next week. Hopefully via a teradeck bolt300. I'm sure it will be fine.

Are you sure about this? I have the 702 Lite and it has threaded inserts on the bottom and sides, but NOT on top.

Here's how I've been setting mine up. Just replace the monitors in the pic with the 702 (which I usually keep on camera). The rig I built with 2 monitors is one for the AC and the other for the director. On the 702, since it does not have a top thread, you can rig the Receiver to the side thread with an L-Bracket or something like that.

Hope that helps.

we are using the wooden camera handles and they work great with the 702. on the back we stick a vmount and can run with it all day. the thing sticking out at the top is the paralinx arrow for wireless transmission. ( i took this photo to compare the colour of the 702 against the fs7 viewfinder )

UPDATE here's a link: http://woodencamera.com/director-s-monitor-cage.html

The ProAM cage is basically identical to the Wooden Camera one and fits the 702 fine and I believe is only $150

I have an old Kamera DSLR cage which I intend to repurpose.

Wow thanks for that info Ben, the proaim cage seems identical to the wooden camera one. Found on amazon for 125 even.

Ah, yes. I believe it is the bottom isn't it?! Hah. I always mount mine upside down, so I've confused myself.

Haha, no! I'm not sure. Apparently I'm so used to mounting it upside down that I've been thinking the top was the bottom for awhile. Thx for showing me your setup!

Get the ProAim, and then a user on RedUser is selling rigid handle wings to use with the WC or ProAim cage pieces and a 702 monitor.

The Wooden Camera / ProAim design by itself, the handle standoffs always undo themselves no matter how much you tighten.

I can't count how many times I've had to do battle with my WC cage to straighten out the handles after they come loose. On rentals and on my own jobs. It needs a V2 redesign badly.

The SmallRig piece looks decent if you KNOW you will never have a cage that needs AB or Vmounts to power both the monitor and a wireless Rx.
