small Back Up camera recommend?

I need a small back-up camera. Is there a mini-dv cam 1 or 2 levels down from the DVX that records on miniDV?

What was the model the DVX grew out of?

What is Panasonic's version of a Canon GL1 or a Sony TRV900?

I still use a little Panasonic pvgs320. 3CCD also.

You shoot 16x9, look for either a GS500 or a GS400. The GS400, while an older model, uses the same imaging block and is actually better in some ways (bigger, sturdier, more physical controls).

If you shoot 4x3 then get a DVC30 - it has slightly larger chips than the consumer cameras and the form factor is more familiar to you if you use a DVX.
