Does anyone know where I can rent an SLR Magic 1.33x anamorpht adapter? I want to experiment but refuse to shell out $1000 to do so. I can't seem to find any rental houses that carry the product.

This is more of a rent to experiment thing. Curious to see my own results and how the workflow is. All the footage ive seen with these slr magic adapters look great IMO. Inwasnt even aware there are other brands.

I tried the buy it cheap to experiment with the Century.

If other brands will work http://www.lensrentals.com/rent/vid...anamorphx-adapter-w-high-flare-single-coating

No doubt that the SLR Magic is higher quality than mine, but I'm not into it too deeply yet. Also have the SLR Magic .33x and 1.33x diopters. What I'm finding with this "cheap" Century is that I need to be around f4 to get crisp images on the only lens I have that will work. Waiting on some parts for other lenses to see if it works better with longer focal lengths. Right now tested on a 24f2.8 FD lens and generic focal reducer on my GH2, it's very wide on this lens. Waiting to try on a 35mm, 50mm, and maybe 85mm or 135mm. Kind of thinking about finding a second adapter for a B system.

Now do you record in 16x9 or 4x3 aspect ratio when using the adapter?

the 1.33x squeeze says it converts 16x9 into 2.39:9.. If thats the case, what does the adapter do to the 4:3 image?

The best deal I saw on the SLR Magic was $850 and included the two diopters, this was on ebay direct from Japan.

Yeah the Letus is massive, but the only one I know that is available for rent.
