Hello,

The manual of the slr magic anamorphot states that max 2.8 f stop is advised, but is that 2.8 on full frame (1.4 on mft) or 2.8 on mft(full frame 5.6) or on all sensors 2.8 and is there something that I dont see?

Kind regards,

My experience is that it depends on the taking lens. My fave choice is the 25mm 0.95 which I can happily shoot at f2 and still be relatively sharp using the anamorphot in both normal and near mode. Other lenses require you to stop down to stay sharp. The achromats help with close up sharpness too.

Don't get too bounded by that number. Start shooting wide open even at 0.95 and stop down to see where the image gets sharp enpugh for YOU. It might be 0.95 for me and 5.6 for you. Test all your taking lenses and see where they start becoming unusable. It's highly dependent on the design of each individual lens.

F/2.8 is always f/2.8, regardless of sensor size. What you are talking about is the relative DOF that a particular aperture creates with different sized sensors. So yes, f/2.8 across all sensors and you can try f/2 although I find that close to marginal.
