slowing down shutter speed to a max

Is there a way to slow down my HVX200 shutter speed below 1/24? I need extreme motion blur for one shot and figured it might be a good way to achieve that...

Is there a way to hack into the camera to allow a slower speed tha 1/24?

My shoot is this saturday, so help is urgently needed. Thank you!

When shooting 24fps, the shutter speed cannot be any slower than 1/24, because the exposure time would exceed the capture frame rate. The shutter speed on the HVX can go all the way to 1/2 second however, when you use the frame hack to get it down to 2fps. Of course, when played back, everything will be in "fast-motion" unless you step print it.

I really dig the low frame rate motion blur thing....I'd mess around with low frame rates along with syncroscan and perhaps even the frame rate hack....you can get some really interesting results...certainly with 2fps at night.

If you go to the scene file and change the camera mode to VIDEO instead of FILM CAM...it's right at the top. You should be able to get much slower shutter speeds with the kind of extreme blur you're looking for. I used this function to shoot an electric spinny string toy the way it appears to the eye, as a field of color. I say this because I don't know how it'll render skin tone. You'd have to test.
