Slowing down project

After exporting a project from after effects, i've found that everything is happening too fast. I need to slow the entire project down. But I can't just extend the time, and change my camera movements. Each camera movement coresponds to one of over a hundred different independant layers. How can I slow down the composition without just redoing everything?

This will be used in FCP.

You should be able to put an adjustment layer over the entire project and use Twixtor to slow it down or one of the other time manipulation plugins/effects.

Or you could change the interpret frame rate in the comp settings. If you did your project at 29.97 or at 25p, you could slow it down in FCP by doing it in a 24p project.

These all seem pretty drastic and might end up being sloppy or messing everything up.. Do you need to just slow it down because of the speed at which it is edited or are there other factors?

Reediting would be the best solution, but would take the longest. The adjustment layer would probably be the next cleanest.

Hope this helps,
Andy

Try precomposing the whole thing, putting it in a new comp, and Time Stretch it with Pixel Motion. That should get you good slow down results, depending on what is in the comp original.

Or, change the main comp's frame rate to something lower, put it into another comp with a higher frame rate. That should work also.
