Slow Shutter / Accumulative Mode Help needed

I've had my DVX100A for quite some time but only today did I read that, apparently, it can shoot in shutter speeds as low as 1/4th using something called accumulative mode. In all the time that I've played with the shutter speeds, I've never been able to get it lower than 1/24th. I've searched google and these forums, and while many results tell me the camera can do it, none of them explain how. Can someone please explain how to achieve these shutter speeds? It would be greatly appreciated!

Go to your settings.

go to SW mode, then go to user 1. hit yes. Then go to slowshut. Get out of the scene settings.

make sure your shutter is OFF. Then hit User 1 on your camera (you will see auto, user1,user2,user3)

there ya go. Now hit the shutter option to toggle from 1/6, to 1/12.

I am on the dvx100b, so this might be a little different
