Slow motion

Hello, newbie type question here please. How do you get slow motion? Do you film at many frames per second and then play at normal speed or is it something you do in post-production?

you do it in post production

if you have a DVX, you shoot at a certain setting to maximize the smoothness.

shoot at 60i at 120fps. works well for me

LloydC, I think you meant to say 60i at 1/120th sec shutter speed, but we know what you meant. Also shooting at 30p and then slowing down to 80% in a 24p timeline gives you perfect 80% speed slowmotion with no resolution loss. Shooting 60i and slowing footage will cause you to lose resolution, but it is the smoothest slow motion you can get from the DVX.
