Hi everyone

Is it possible to shoot in a high frame rate to produce a real slow motion scene ? I mean am I able to change the frame rate into a higher level ?

Thank you !

On the set of Zombie Night 2 , there was a car scene that involved this car crashing into a boat . I asked the cameraman (DVX) if he was going to shoot 60i ..no he said I'll shoot at a frame rate of 1000 for slow motion.
I haven't tried it yet but will be in a week or 2 .

Shoot in 60i with a shutter of 1/250th. In post, on a 24p timeline, give it a 40% slow down and you're have some of the most beautiful slow motion ever to come out of a DVX.

HA HA HA! That's funny. The camera will only shoot 24P, 30P and 60I.. He probably meant a shutter speed of 1/1000, not frame rate.

If I had a camera man that said that to me he would be gone immediatly. Seriously it helps to know what you are talking about.

You guys are correct . This was my MAJOR GOOF , 1/1000 was his correct answer and what I meant to say.
Sorry for the goof Guys... Glad everyone had a chuckle ( I am embarrassed)...Ian

what do you mean "his correct answer"?
there is no 1/1000frame rate, only shutter speed, which doesn't give you the extra frames needed to provide a nice slomo in post. which is one of the reasons everyone is so excited about the HVX

OK ..I was refering to Sirus doggy answer ... The camera man meant shutterspeed and was correct in his answer( shutter speed) ..it was me who F&**$ uped
I should of said Shutter speed not Frame rate as I had been reading Threads on 24pn vs 24pa for a while ..frame rate just got stuck in my head ..
No excuse though for that mistake..Ian
