I would like to shoot slow motion, not in post, with my HVX 200 and FS 100 (vers.3, supports P2 PN). I followed the settings for slow mo (Film cam, 720/ 25PN, 48 fps) but it doesnt happen. Do I really need to buy a P2 Card for this? Please help.

Thanx folks,

Yes, because the FireStore can't do that. There's indications that a forthcoming firmware revision to the FS-100 will allow it, but if you're talking about using the tools today, the FS-100 cannot record a clip in slow-mo.

You can get the equivalent by processing the clip through Raylight, or through Apple's Frame Rate Converter utility. It'll be genuine frame-accurate slow-mo, not some post simulation, but it does require processing in post to get it.

It's a relatively simple workaround in post, and it DOES give you real, genuine slow-mo (not like slowing down regular footage) but without the P2 card it takes an extra step, and it does require a little post tinkering.
