slow motion in 24p not 24pA

I'm working on a project that I'm shooting in 24p (not 24pa) and editing in a normal 29.97 timeline. Ive read and understand all the slow motion concepts discussed in the DVX book, but I believe that is all for editing in a 24fps timeline. If I want slow motion that still has the progressive scan look is my best bet to shoot in 30p and slow it down by 50%? If I do that should my shutter be at 1/120?

I'd shoot 60i to get as much information as you can. Then slow it down to whatever you like.

Shooting in 30P and slowing it down works with a normal 24P in 23.97 Timeline.

it depends how slow if you want 50% slow then shoot 60i, if you google it you can probably find some info on to turn 60i into true 24 or 30p for real slow motion....you will lose res though. if you want 80% then shoot 30p....you can then use cinema tools (maybe theres other stuff too) to conform that footage to 24p and the result will be true 80% slow mo.
