Slow Motion For The Everyman

Maybe this is common knowledge and maybe this isn't, but shooting good looking slow motion footage with your DVX is very possible. I've got a PDF that I made up that I encourage everyone to read if they feel like it and there's also a sample clip I've uploaded so you can see if for yourself.

Here's the PDF.

Here's the video.

Have fun...

P.S. I shot the footage on my XL2 at a shutter speed of 1/15000 which is why you can see the wings on the fly at the end there if you advance it frame by frame. I opted to go with the XL for this test because of that feature, but I still love my DVX so don't worry.

This really is amazing. I've GOT to get compressor working again!!! You know if QTPro will export using basically the same information?

I don't think that the same frame controls are in QTPro, so you're going to need to use Compressor.

Hey -- cinema tools recognizes it as 23.98 and won't let me conform... Thoughts?

Thanks,

CaptM

EDIT: Got it... thanks

I'm beginning to think it was just a cruel wave the bacon and make doggy salivate style trick.

Thanks for the PDF file.

Thanks for the PDF file.

Thanks for shareing your insight and experience. Great information. Can't wait to try it out.

I have no idea how you worked this out but it works very well and its infinitely better than FCP's built in slo-mo/fast-mo functions.

congrats and thanks for posting.
