Slow motion cameras?

Besides the Sony FS700, what are some other camers that can do high frame rate recording (240+ fps)? I know some can do 120/180, but do you have to step into speciality cameras beyond this ?

If you're fine with "just" 240fps, the VariCam LT can do 240fps in 2k/HD internally, albeit in a cropped sensor mode. The F55 can do 240 in 2K RAW to an R5 or R7 recorder, with no sensor "crop".

RED cameras in various resolutions and compression ratios. The most expensive models provide the best options/quality.

Phantom cameras are what you see most of the really cool shots on.

There are many models but I think the phantom flex/4k is one of the most popular

240 frames per second is very slow...anything more would probably be for a special purpose/production...food, science, industrial, sports, etc.

The RX100 IV does up to 960fps! Maybe it's a cost/quality compromise, haha

Of course, Phantom can run up to $150,000. It ain't in the RX100 range.

Some rental houses who rent Phantoms won't rent them to you unless you have a qualified, certified, trained Phantom Technician on set. I've done it a few times over the years, not cheap to rent either. Amazing technology but you really have to have a need for it to justify how much it costs to rent one.
